Great video, Shawna!
What a brave step, Shawna! You have inspired me to move forward on something I have been thinking about for a while: making some Youtube videos of my hymns and prayers from SR and SBH. After I take my week off, though :-). About to put the SBH Paypal ordering up at the book blog, though. There is a $5.00 discount for purchasing the two together and I am extending that to people who bought SR if they order SBH during October–so if you’re ready to purchase this month, make sure to click that one.
Thanks again for all your support for my work! Writing at home can be lonely and our connection and mutual support is a real gift.
The poster of a book cover, and the book’s title is “Carter Beats the Devil.” When I saw that as I was playing back, I laughed too. I decided it’s my way of sending subliminal messages: “Complementarianism (the belief a woman’s sole purpose is to submit and breed) is evil: it’s of the devil. Run. Run fast.”
Fascinating subject! I didn’t know all that crap about women submitting was based on just a few verses. So glad you’re writing a book about it. ๐
okay — i love this — great job Shawna. And I’m tickled by “Devil” over your shoulder! lol.
I’m not religious, but this is fascinating. Looking forward to more!
Very interesting! Looking forward to your insights over the next month ๐
One teensy little thing that made me giggle (in the sense of irony and all that, nothing mean, I promise!)… the framed art above your couch? The positioning of your video makes it look like the word ‘evil’ is hovering over your right shoulder (though the d peeked through a couple of times, I’m really curious about your decor, now, lol).
